Cross-interval histogram analysis of neuronal activity on multi-electrode arrays - Neural Engineering, 2003. Conference Proceedings. First International IEEE EMBS Conference on

چکیده
Cross-neuron-interval histogram (CNIH) analysis has been performed in order to study correlated activity and connectivity between pairs of neurons in a spontaneously active developing cultured network of rat cortical cells. Thirty-eight histograms could be analyzed using two parameters, one for the shape and one for the average number per interval bin. The histogram shape vaned gradually between flat and clearly peaked around zero interval, indicating nolabundant connectivity and direct connection pathways, respectively.

Neural networks on chemically patterned 'cultured probe' electrode arrays: network growth and activity pattern - Neural Engineering, 2003. Conference Proceedings. First International IEEE EMBS Conference on
A 'cultured probe' is a hybrid type of neural information transducer or prosthesis, for stimulation and/or recording of neural activity in the brain or the spinal cord (ventral motor region or dorsal sensory region). It consists of a micro electrode array (MEA) on a planar substrate, each electrode being covered and surrounded by a locally confined network of cultured neurons, obtained by chemi...
متن کاملInformation transfer of an EEG-based brain computer interface - Neural Engineering, 2003. Conference Proceedings. First International IEEE EMBS Conference on
The idea of an EEG-based brain computer interface is to support the communication of locked-in-patients. Thus, it is important to quantify the information transfer. Wolpaw et al. (2000) has proposed a measure which is derived from the classification error rate. In this work, we propose an alternative measure. Both measures are compared and the advantages and disadvantages of both are discussed.

Multi-electrode arrays technology for the non-invasive recording of neural signals: a review article
The recording of electrophysiological activities of brain neurons in the last half-century has been considered as one of the effective tools for the development of neuroscience. One of the techniques for recording the activity of nerve cells is the multi-electrode arrays (MEAs). Microelectrode arrays (MEAs) are usually employed to record electrical signals from electrogenic cells like neurons o...
